In the Add-on Store you can browse, search, install and update community add-ons. This release introduces the Add-on Store to replace the Add-ons Manager. For anyone who is interested in trying out what the next version of NVDA has to offer before it is officially released, we welcome you to download the beta and provide feedback. This includes Basic Training, all our Microsoft Office training, and telephone support.Beta 2 of NVDA 2023.2 is now available for download and testing. Start with the popular Basic Training for NVDA in electronic text, audio and braille. ![]() We also have a range of training material in the NV Access Shop to help you increase your skills with NVDA. Contributions like yours help NV Access continue our important work. While downloading NVDA, please consider becoming a monthly donor. This is the first thing to try if you do notice anything odd after updating. This can lead to instability and strange behaviour which is resolved by rebooting. Updating software can change files which are in use. Restart by going to the Shutdown dialog, selecting “restart” and pressing ENTER. Please note, after updating any software, it is a good idea to restart the computer. This release breaks compatibility with add-ons made for NVDA 2022.4 and earlier.There are new Georgian, Swahili (Kenya) and Chichewa (Malawi) braille tables. There are many bug fixes, notably Windows 11 fixes.ĮSpeak, LibLouis, Sonic rate boost and Unicode CLDR has been updated. Support for ARM64 and AMD64 versions of Windows has improved. Tivomatic Caiku Albatross 46/80 braille displays are now supported. ![]() Press NVDA+d to cycle through summaries when annotations are reported (e.g. Support for annotated web content (such as comments and footnotes) has improved. There is a new global command to report the destination of a link, mapped to NVDA+k. This can be used with text editors that do not support paragraph navigation natively, such as Notepad and Notepad++. ![]() HighlightsĪ new option has been added, “Paragraph Style” in “Document Navigation”. We encourage all users to upgrade to this version. NV Access is pleased to announce that version 2023.1 of NVDA, the free screen reader for Microsoft Windows, is now available for download. ![]()
